Linda Church Ciocci,
National Hydropower Association
November 03, 2011
Washington, D.C. (November 3, 2011) The following is a statement from Linda Church Ciocci, Executive Director of the National Hydropower Association, on the introduction of H.R. 3307, the American Renewable Energy Tax Credit Extension Act:
“Providing financial certainty to hydropower developers is exactly the type of policy the industry needs out of Washington during these economic times. NHA applauds the leadership of Reps. Dave Reichert and Earl Blumenauer in introducing the American Renewable Energy Tax Credit Extension Act and encourages other members of Congress to join them by co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation.
“This bipartisan bill would send a market signal supporting project development, in turn leveraging significant private investment that will help bring additional clean, affordable and reliable hydroelectric power to more American families. It promotes job creation and local economic benefits across the country in the hydropower industry, helping to create over one million new jobs and access over 60,000 MW of untapped capacity by 2025.
“NHA urges the Ways and Means Committee to take up this bill quickly and, as always, stands ready to work with Congress on this and other issues affecting the hydropower industry.”
