Republican state lawmakers from several states have been aggressively trying to repeal Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) laws. The states where RPS repeal bills were introduced included North Carolina, Kansas, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Minnesota, and Texas. None of the repeal bills has passed and, in some cases, they did not even receive a hearing. Colorado is one of a few states to pass a bill strengthening their RPS laws. Farmers have been one of the biggest advocates for renewable energy and voiced their complaints against the RPS repeal bills.
