NextEra Energy is the big winner of Ontario wind contractsThe Ontario Power Authority today handed out 19 new contracts for wind power (as well as six new contracts for solar power) under the province's Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program. The cumulative capacity of the wind projects awarded contracts is 1018.4MW and the big winner was NextEra Energy (formerly Florida Power & Light), which won six contracts for 468.5MW.
However, the name NextEra does not appear in any of the documents as the contracts were awarded to subsidiaries. So, after a bit of cyber-digging, it is possible to trace the various contracts back to NextEra.
