Alternative Energy is a revolution happening in our times, right in front of us. Renwable Energy is energy which is created from natural re sources such as sunlight (solar power), the heat from the earth (geothermal energy) or the air.

I took the time to actually scan this document in question, and it makes unfounded assumptions. 1) That we can just shut down generating plants at 1/2 their operating life, with no payment for costs. 2) Stop nearly all truck traffic. 3) Suddenly "more efficient cars." 4)Ship bt cargo ship, not planes.
Every one of these fails for good reasons.
1)Trains still require truck delivery, and don't come close to going all the places needed. 2) Electric rates are based on a 40 year life of plants, and if closed early _mist_ adjust a great deal higher. 3) "More efficient cars are greatly more expensive, and these sell in *far fewer* numbers, leaving less efficient cars still on the road. 4) Ships can go even fewer [place than trains, ay about 1% of the speed, even if enough are in existence. 5) ?Public Transportation" is notoriously inefficient in financial terms outside city cores.
All of this requires a massive change in population levels and living areas. Short of large numbers suddenly dying, it can't happen.

It won't be necessary to shut down the old conventional energy based power plants. They will have to be phased out over a longer period of time. At the same time, adding new renewable energy based plants will surely add to fresh job opportunities. But over a period of say another thirty years (up to 2080), we shall have to shut conventional plants.
In the mean time, other job opportunities will have to be created so that we have sufficient jobs for the population.
It is not difficult to maintain jobs in planned manner.
