The video is fine, the interviews are great...but why can't they squeeze in a shot of the turbines actually turning?

If I didn't know anything about wind power, I'd be wondering why the blades aren't turning as well....

I realize that the video was produced during the construction of the farm, so you can't really show the blades turning. But I have a feeling that people would point to the turbines not spinning and say that wind doesn't work.

Good video, by the way. I think stuff like this is very valuable for continuing to brand the industry. It certainly portrays wind in a positive context.

Daniel and Stephen - thanks for the feedback. The video was shot at the tail end of the construction phase so the wind farm was not yet operational. Now that it is operational I think it would make a lot of sense to shoot additional footage of the blades turning.

Given the time and money that goes into a project like this, it probably doesn't make sense to go back and re-shoot.

Anyway, we're seeing more videos like this one and that really pumps me up. Companies now see the value in marketing good stories and they finally have the money to spend...Nice work.

Ted, et al:

As a physicist (energy expert) and longtime environmental advocate, I applaud your efforts to educate the public about energy issues.

After talking to a LOT of people about renewables (like wind power), my conclusion is that almost everyone has only a superficial understanding of this very technical matter. Additionally, the public and political perception of wind power is being driven by special interest lobbyists, and by "environmentalists" who are well-intentioned but misguided.

For instance, your well-done video captures the fact that 95% of the support is based on perceived employment benefits.

Wind power is not about employment, but is a supposed solution to global warming. Since it has not been able to prove that it has any consequential CO2 reduction benefits, the lobbyists have morphed it into an economic opportunity. This is all about developers and investors making enormous profits.

What if stimulus money was used to hire 250 people in southern Utah to dig ditches — and then another 250 to follow along and fill them in. Would these jobs be a great thing?

What if they proposed a prison for the terrorists held in Cuba? Would everyone think that is a great thing?

We should not be distracted by the money — which should be the message of your piece!

Real solutions to complex technical matters should be based on SCIENCE, rather than on inputs from those who stand to economically or politically profit.

To find out what the science say, see "Electrical Energy: Sound Scientific Solutions" >.

Hopefully you agree that our serious energy and environmental issues should be solved by scientists rather than self-serving lobbyists.

sorry to see our ignorance and disdain for solutions!
WIND POWER exist ,ever heard of the 'NORTH WIND BLOWING' even in the songs?
if it cleanly can move our factories ,hospitals ,schools farms and else completly, then we should all be for it ,reducing the cost for ever more expensive fossil fuels that in the least pollute and smog

Yes ,we know ,change ,takes courage and work!
