"These new wind power plants...coupled with investment in 17 new manufacturing facilities over the past year and a quarter show that – with consistent policy support – America's wind industry can deliver the goods in terms of clean energy and new clean technology jobs."

These numbers are still pitifully low, and a pittance of what can be achieved within US Territory. Texas has the advantage of having a 12 mile jurisdiction over its marine border, other states only 3 nautical miles. Its also positioned itself, to attract wind power companies with the legal "interconnections". My company has designs to commercialize novel Next Generation wind systems where 10 GW wind farms, and $.05/kWh are an achievable baseline. Some countries are building out 1 GW baseline farms. Tapping this readily available, potent energy stock, correctly, one can install in 1 year, capacity equal to several percent ot the total U.S. electric production. Or simply put, when WindPower is done right, it will obsolete, all prior attempts. Jay R, CEO, SPI, JRIAM1945@aol.com

The author accidentally reversed two numbers. In the sentence, "Texas added over half this new capacity and now has well over 5,000 MW installed. Over 4,000 MW of projects are now also under construction nationwide. " It should read Texas has over 4,000MW (4356) and over 5,000MW (5736) are under construction nationwide.
