The bill also extends the residential solar credit for one year and removes the $2,000 cap. The bill currently has 23 co-sponsors. The vehicle for the package has not yet been announced; however, those behind the bill are confident they can get the 61 co-sponsors that the bill will need to pass the Senate.

I think I found it online. I think it's SB 2821 and this shows 28 co-sponsors.

I haven't found anywhere online that lists which Senators are co-sponsoring this so far, aside from Sununu-- but that's great news that this is bipartisan. And I'm glad that the $2000 cap is finally removed for residential systems. I'm surprised that that wasn't done in the House version (instead they just made it a $4000 cap).

Thank you for correcting to article to reflect that fact that Senator Ensign is a Republican, not a Democrat as it originally indicated.

This is an important point as Senator Ensign voted against the ITC provisions in December 07.

Has Senator McCain, who did not vote on the measure in December, been asked where he stands on the extension and expansion of the ITC?

It's nice to see my own senator from Nevada doing such good work.

Thanks for posting the bill number Mr. Eastburn. Thankfully the bill now has 33 cosponsors, about 13 of whom were Republicans who voted against the tax credit in December. (Sen Landrieu (D-LA), the one Dem who voted against it, is also a cosponsor of the current bill).

According to my review, the Republican Senators who have seen the light are as follows:

Sen Allard - Colorado
Sen Burr - North Carolina
Sen Cornyn - Texas
Sen Craig - Idaho
Sen Dole - North Carolina
Sen Domenici - New Mexico
Sen Ensign - Nevada
Sen Enzi - Wyoming
Sen Graham - South Carolina
Sen Hutchison - Texas
Sen Martinez - Florida
Sen Stevens - Alaska
Sen Sununu - New Hampshire

Congratulations to all of the Senators listed above. It's about time they got off their cans and did something with long lasting effects on the country as a whole, as opposed to just taking care of their little fiefdoms. Using wind energy for commercial purposes is only about 200 years late in this country, but it's good to see it has finally found its pathway. It's too bad we can't do something which would really get the attention of those senators who actually voted against it. I'd love to see a list of each of their pet projects which they did vote for. Maybe, it would be in the best interests of our country to fire them all and start with some new blood and ideas...which will actually benefit the country.
