"We feel that we can build an industrial supply chain in North America. We have the spare capacity and the ability. We also have a tremendous regulatory regime in Ontario and we have all the pieces in place to move forward. It's a big win for all the Great Lakes."

--John Kourtoff, CEO, Trillium Power Wind Generation

Great Lakes <div>It takes, Great Lakes to promote offshore windy power,</div><div>Lead the way, for USA, our Canadian friends aren't&nbsp;dour.</div><div>All pieces, in place, to move ahead is no disgrace,</div><div>To the timid, and afraid, a good example to be laid.</div><div>Lake Huron, won't be gone, with the placement of wind turbines,</div><div>Ontario, is sure to go, in this direction which seems just fine.</div><div>It is a win, win, win for renewable wind that God provides for us to use,</div><div>Great Lakes, goodness sakes,&nbsp;an opportunity we should not lose.</div><div>adrianakau2aol.com</div>

<p>I'm investigating more about alternative energy for the state of Michigan. As a citizen of&nbsp;this fine state&nbsp;I&nbsp;look for new innovations to improve our economy. Alternative energy seems like a great opportunity to add stability to our economy.&nbsp;&nbsp;I find this topic very interesting and positive news in hopes of supporting a dismal economy. Hopefully are state adopts more of a necessity for the need of alternative energy. In addition, I would like to find a possible career in alternative energy. I'm currently finishing up BA in Administrative studies and would like to move into the alternative energy field. I do not have much experience in this field but would be more than willing get some education in this field. If anyone has any advice on educating myself in this field, I'd really appreciate it. </p><p>&nbsp;</p>

It was great to hear this news. The involvement of the community and assessment of environmental effects should pave way for a better way to sell the RE concepts. Best of luck.

&nbsp;&nbsp; I work all over the country, most reciently in Texas where they are serios about wind power.&nbsp; It is frustrating to see the state with the second longest coast line after Alaska failing to take advantage of this huge resource!

Obviously there is no Kennedy compound on the Great Lakes (as is the case with Cape Wind). I hope the project is successful.
