This is a fine piece of reporting, and a fascinating story. Nubanusit is one example of cohousing, but one point doesn't make a trend. What about other examples? I interviewed the head of the Cohousing Association to learn the scope of this movement, and the challenges and opportunities ahead. Is energy efficiency a common theme? Can builders and developers get involved? What about mortgage financing? Building Priorities Briefing, February, 2008.
