Chevron to invest $25 M in UC Davis to develop transportation fuels from cellulosic biomass.

We are definitely living in trying times...and confusing. Isn't Chevron the company that bought Ovonic's nickle hydryde[sp] battery techology and used a subsidiary [Cobysys?] to bury it? The story was Toyota had Rav4 suvs on the road with these high performance batteries and was forced to pull them when Chevron gained control of the technology. Recently I drove a Saturn Vue, VERY MILD hybrid with a Cobsys nickle battery, but all it did was restart the engine when it quits at stop lights. ----very strange---

This technology already exists. The btu value of practically all oraganic materials are known. The technology has been under development for 14 years and is commerically available today.
