Arise Produces Solar Grade Silicon using New Technique

Kitchener, Ontario [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Arise Technologies has demonstrated in the laboratory a new approach for refining high-purity solar-grade silicon. Arise has been working on this project with a consortium, which includes two universities and several international partners. The new technique produces silicon feedstock that can be fed into the ingot-making process that produces crystalline silicon ingots for solar cells. The silicon produced is intended to meet the specifications of high-efficiency solar PV cell manufacturers.
