BIG news!

I'm very curious about Shell's focus on CIS modules. Indium is and will be hard to get at. OK, it's for thin films, but they want a lot of production, won't they? Or has Shell already bought half of the worlds Indium reserves?

Reuters article indicates CIS not included.

"Shell believes non-silicon based technologies such as CIS are more likely to become competitive with retail electricity in the coming years," the firm said.

Sunpower Corporation seems to make more efficient cells.
I hope the size of this merger doesn't bring a lower quality product to the fore.

Sunlight into electricity? If it can be done with sillicon, then it can be done with other stuff too.

I like the research. I hope they find some easy to get at materials soon.

It just keeps getting better and better.

Thankyou

Check out http://www.xsunx.com/ - they don't say what material they're using, but they're touting their supposed cost-effectiveness. So if they're using a material that's in short supply, they musn't be too worried.
