I can remember reading of a plan to build solar concentrating plants in North Africa to provide a source of energy to store and transport hydrogen by pipeline on a large scale to supply parts of Europe. Now look at the possabilities, given the huge potential for renewable energy development in this area

This is true. In the Northern, dry part of Nigeria, Concentrating Solar Power plants can be operated very well.
There is a cooling problem, air cooling can be applied. But when there is a brackish or salt or heavily polluted lake, the waste heat can be appied for desalination and the production of destilled water.

Is there a reason this article says 15903 MW instead of MWh? I've seen this mistake a couple of times in your articles - don't mean to be picky, but I know it would be less confusing for me if units of power and energy were correctly noted.
