"One household may not contribute much to the country's emissions, but when one thinks about 2.4 million households burning three liters of kerosene the situation becomes completely different. Our project is about helping the poorest of the poor but it is also about helping the country earn carbon credits."

Excellent article! It's heartwarming to know that the CRE is providing assistance to poor and rural folk in Nepal, who have more integrity and joy in their lives than most affluent individuals. I'm convinced that whatever external light they may lack, is augmented by their internal glow. It is also inspiring to see that Mallika Aryal has returned to her homeland and is assisting in the growth of her country. Too often, the lure of "higher education" and affluence, corrupt and enslave those who have done without and now find false comfort in the Maya of avarice. Keep up the good work. The Universe is unfolding as it should and higher collective consciousness is constantly on the rise.

Why does the the solar tukis cost NRs 3,500 (USD $50) when a similar Bell and Howell system (Solar Floodlights) costs only USD $15? The Bell and Howell can supply light up to 12 hours. Why charge poor people so much?
