Cargill to Build Second 110 mgy Ethanol Plant

Like the proposed Minnesota site, the Wood River plant would source corn - about 41 million bushels annually - from the adjacent Cargill elevator. Cargill would market and distribute the plant's output, which, in addition to ethanol, would include more than 375,000 tons of dry distiller grain for animal feed annually.

Beyond creating demand for up to 41 million bushels of corn, Biofuel Solutions plans to hire locally for approximately 50 full-time jobs.

"We have been impressed by the business friendly atmosphere that we have encountered thus far," said Dan Simon, project manager and executive VP with Biofuel Solutions, "and expect to be able to build on this as we move forward in partnership with the local community to construct this facility."

Biofuel Solutions expects to make the investment in part based on the nearby railway and highway systems and strong community support. The company is working with the City of Wood River to confirm that the proposed plant meets all required environmental ordinances, state and federal laws. All environmental permits required for construction have been filed and are pending approval from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. Biofuel Solutions expects to begin construction in the first quarter of 2006.
