"Maine has a huge renewable power resource," she said. "Green power purchases by customers such as Bates provide a market for both existing and new renewable resources like hydroelectric, biomass, wind, solar, tidal and landfill-gas projects."

Am I wrong to interpret this as saying that renewable electricity is only 4% (76E3 / 1.8E6) more expensive for the college?

If correct, thats not a bad deal at all.

I also applaud this positive development by Bates College and I would like to extend an offer of providing the front end biomass fuel conversion system technology to be used in this highly worthwhile project. Hopefully my company (by providing the AAEC technology for biomass conversion) can help insure the energy derived from the biomass resources is cleaner and more affordable.

It only takes a spark....to get a fire going. Congratulations to Bates and let's hope the Harvards and Cornells and Princetons can grasp the same vision.
