Tap into Turkey's RE Business Opportunities

The teleconference will give interested individuals and companies an opportunity to learn from officials at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey about opportunities in the renewable energy sector for U.S. companies. This teleconference is part of the U.S. Commercial Service's Renewable Energy Export Initiative.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn about upcoming projects. Participation in this one-hour teleconference, taking place from 8:00 - 9:00 AM PST, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST, is complimentary, but invitation only. RSVPs will be accepted until the close of business on January 5, 2004, at which time dial-up information for be forwarded to the participants.

The U.S. Commercial Service is the global business solutions unit of the Department of Commerce. The unit says they specifically offer U.S. companies a wide and deep knowledge of markets and industries; a unique global network; inventive use of information technology; a focus on small and mid-size businesses; and the clout and cachet of the U.S. government.

"The Commercial Service shall place primary emphasis on the promotion of exports of goods and services from the United States, particularly by small businesses and medium-sized businesses, and on the protection of United States business interests abroad," said the unit's mission statement.

While the Turkey teleconference is just around the corner, it isn't the only upcoming networking opportunity through the U.S. commercial service. The unit will be attending the PowerGen Renewable Energy conference in Las Vegas, March 2-3, 2005. There, U.S. Commercial Service representatives from the U.S. Embassies in Ankara, Turkey, New Delhi, India and Belo Horizante, Brazil will share insight and first hand knowledge on how to conduct business in their respective countries, as well as explore current export opportunities and market conditions for U.S. renewable energy firms.

"Companies that do the proper due diligence are finding great success in overseas markets," said the U.S. commercial Service in a statement.
