"It's a very exciting project for SolarGenix, -- it's the first parabolic trough plant that will be in construction in the U.S. and the world since the demise of LUZ."

This reminds me of an idea I had last year. I'll describe it, and I hope to receive emails from anyone who thinks it would work/ not work etc.

Imagine a huge tent made of plastic that is clear on the outside and mirrored on the inside.

These tents would be huge, as big as a sports stadium, perhaps bigger.

At the top of the tent is a turbine.

The air in the tent becomes heated and raises, escaping at the top, turning the turbine.

As you can probably see, the technology is very simple. I am no physicist though, so I don't know how to estimate how much power could be generated this way. Would anybody be able to help?
