Obama's Plan Would Double Renewable Energy Production in the U.S.

In his weekly radio address last Saturday, President-elect Obama went into greater detail about his American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan, a plan that he hopes will not only create jobs in the short-term but that will spur sustainable economic growth for the future.

"To put people back to work today and reduce our dependence on foreign oil tomorrow, we will double renewable energy production and renovate public buildings to make them more energy efficient," he said.

Next week, the President-elect will meet with leaders from both parties to discuss the plan.  To read the full address or watch a video of it, click here.

Obama has already indicated that his administration will focus on creating jobs through a green stimulus plan and many experts on have written about and commented on what this might do for the renewable energy industry. Click the links below to read more.
