CPUC Approves Two SCE Contracts

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved two renewable contracts for Southern California Edison (SCE). The contracts inculde both wind and solar power and total approximately 50 megawatts (MW).

The first project is the Granite Wind project, which is being co-developed by Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Americas Development, RENEWergy LLC, and G.H. Energy Limited.  It will be a new 42-MW wind facility with the potential to expand to 81 megawatts.

The second project is the FSE Blythe project that First Solar Inc. is developing, which will be a new 7.5-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) facility with the potential to expand to 21 megawatts.  This is the first utility-scale solar project in California that uses thin film photovoltaic technology.
